Today was a good day.

Classes at Carrollton Montessori and Children's Lighthouse went well - fast paced, high energy classes where I feel more energized at the end than at the beginning. Great focus at Carrollton Montessori from the kids, and I added stripes to belts for Sarah, Caitlyn, and Jaidyn at the Lighthouse. Then back to the Studio, quickly.....

We had a really good class from 4:45 5o 5:20 with our Junior Black Belt Candidates, getting ready for the test on the 18th. That test is shaking down as Katherine Rogers, Aakash Padakandla, Eric Brem and Rohit Nair. We spent 35 minutes working on hitting harder doing the techniques, getting more realistic hits.

After that, Advanced Juniors, Brown and above. We had 10 kids in class, which is a good turnout for that level. We covered a lot of material, and it was a lot of fun. We worked on doing techniques and forms while screening out confusion - doing things like having everyone face random directions and do forms. It's hard to focus on a form when 10 peeople are doing different forms in all different directions, but it can be done.

That class ran late, as I added stripes to Red/Black belts. Fortunately, Frank Rodriguez was there to get the late Junior class going, so I had time to finish with the advanced students. I finally took over from Frank, so that he could do Systema with Kevin, Jason, and Steve, and while I worked with the basic Junior class, Dawn Rowland was working from 6:15 to 7:15 with the Demo Team.

A busy day - great classes, lots of activity, lots of positive energy. The kind of day that makes me want to come back tomorrow because I want to see what's next!
